Weather still extremely dry. Only 45mm so far in September. No storms are developing in the Caribbean. Not a good situation for the farmers. The showers a few weeks ago did not bring an end to the dry, in fact it is becoming more dry.

The weather system mentioned previously has managed to push northward and is now producing some Thunder showers across Belize. In the past few hours the area of these showers has been expanding. This rain may be the ending of the dry period that we have been experiencing.

Saturday, September 8, 2012

A High Pressure ridge running SW to NE is keeping clear sky over Belize. There has been only a trace of rain since my last report. The area of showers to the south is attempting to move northward but is being blocked by the ridge. Will see what it looks like in the morning.
