An approaching cold front is causing instability in the NW Caribbean. An area of rain is situated off the east coast of the Yucatan. Overnight I measured about 22 mm of rainfall here in Belmopan. Over the past 2 days there has been about 35 mm of rain. The total rainfall for all of 2011 measured at my location in Belmopan was 2214 mm or 87.2 inches which is about normal for this area. There were no significant storms here in Belize in 2011.
