An area of thundershowers developed around the region overnight. The thunder occurred mainly to the south and west of Belmopan. There was light rain from midnight to about 3 AM. Then from sunrise to about 7 AM there was a moderate rain shower with a strong NW wind. The total rainfall from the two periods of rain was 27 mm or just over one inch. The system moved from west to east and by 10 AM it had dissipated off the NE coast of Belize. Over the past 18 hours the sun has become more active with a number of sunspots popping up.
